Lets go flying

Up. Up. and higher. {Do you like tire swings?} i do. I'm trying to find a tire. A tire that doesn't turn my hands black when ever I touch it. A tire that can hang from a tree and spin around and around, until you're so dizzy you fall off.

I'm not sure what I should post about. I don't have much to post about. I feel bad posting just photos all the time, but I deleted my photography blog, I wasn't happy about it. Maybe I'll start over? Sorry I haven't been blogging much, Summer came fast

We got 22 chickens, two puppies, one snake, one turtle and one cat. All in all, we have 27 animals to take care of. That's really not that many. I think my parents are trying to turn our entire yard/house into a chicken farm. Chickens, chickens, chickens. We got this wire wrap around fence for the puppies, but I think its been used for the chickens more than the puppies. We got a 10x10 kennel for the puppies, but I think its used for the chickens more. We have this gigantic dog house for the puppies, but I see the chickens in it more than the puppies. My Dad and Joshua are building a big chicken coop for (ahem, drum roll please) the chickens. Dad said he'd build me one , with air-conditioning and a floor. (Kidding, though he said he would) I would paint it bright green, and inside I'd have clouds painted on the ceiling. We're going to have a lot of small {ish} large {ish} "buildings" in our yard. Speaking of puppies. I wanted to tell you we got a new puppy. My favorite puppy, Lacey (We named the two puppies we got, Cagney and Lacey) was hit by a car last Friday. So my mom got another puppy (Since Cagney was used to another dog being with her, we didn't want her to be alone.) We named her Lacey-too. (Yes, I do mean too) Mom said if there is a Cagney, there is a Lacey too. (If you click on the names, it will take you to a picture) if you want to see more pictures of her, go to my flickr page here.)

O' Come O' Come Emmanuel

I have many favourite Christmas songs. And many I dislike, and some I don't mind. I liked the sound of O' come O' come Emmanuel, and I liked singing it. But for a while, I never got the meaning of it. Mom and I were talking one day, and after thinking about it. Christmas really isn't about Jesus's birth. It is about his death. Because Jesus was born to die for us.

"O come, O come, Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
shall come to thee, O Israel.

Christmas is a fun holiday to celebrate, and giving and receiving gifts is a lot of fun. But sometimes we forget what Christmas is really about. I know I do. And I have to remind myself, it isn't about gifts and baking and our enjoyment. Jesus died for us. He suffered and forgave our sins

O come, O come, Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free
Thine own from Satan's tyranny
From depths of Hell Thy people save
And give them victory o'er the grave
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Day-Spring, come and cheer
Our spirits by Thine advent here
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night
And death's dark shadows put to flight.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Key of David, come,
And open wide our heavenly home;
Make safe the way that leads on high,
And close the path to misery.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, O come, Thou Lord of might,
Who to Thy tribes, on Sinai's height,
In ancient times did'st give the Law,
In cloud, and majesty and awe.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

Gott segne und frohe Weihnachten!
