A few months ago I came across this song by Jon Schmidt. I then looked up a few other songs by him, and I was completely amazed. Then I happened to come across his youtube channel. [it's not *just* his channel] And from there, I just kind of kept going. For a while I wanted to stop piano, the music was getting harder and I didn't want to sit down and learn it all. But then I heard this  [by the way, that is my favorite song by him <3] song, and I was kind of like "Ah! I have to keep playing!" So here is one of my favorite video's Jon Schmidt has done. I suggest you listen to it, it's pretty amazing. [He is accompanied by Steven Sharp Nelson in most of his songs.]

And if you have a few minutes, go listen to these..
                                                          Rolling in the deep
                                                            Linus and Lucy
                                                    Michael Meets Mozart <<< [<3]
                                                            To the Summit
                                                              Waterfall  <<< [<3]
[I'm trying to decide if I want to do that one for a recital..]
                                                         Christmas Medley
                                                     Where are you Christmas?
                                                            Homecoming
                                                              Ridin' West
[this one is hilarious. He wrote it when he was 16 [somewhere around there?]
and he was inspired by a Tuna Fish commercial! :D]
                                                                 Dumb Song

"I'm a Twinkie in a Ding-Dong world."

Though I'm not particularly fond of twinkies. And now you're probably wondering. "What and the world does her title mean?" Well I'll tell you what it means! Me and some of my family went and saw Tim Hawkins on Friday. Wow. We had SO much fun, my jaw/face and stomach hurt from laughing so hard. Staying on subject. About the title, right. I'll explain later. Nooowww. I will show you pictures and video's of the Tim Hawkins concert I went to. It was so much fun! I apologize for the blurry pictures and not focused, it was kind of hard to take pictures with everyone laughing, and I had someone bumping my arm every time they laughed. And that one person laughed a lot. So the pictures aren't the best, but they work ;)

"Chick-fil-A. I could eat that seven times a day
Where the people laugh and children play
Oh, I'm in love with Chick-fil-A"
"Hey there, Delilah
This is your ex-boyfriend Samson
I know you thought that lifting weights
Made me so buff and handsome
You were wrong
It’s cause I let my hair grow long
That makes me strong"
"(Hey everybody! Gather 'round! I'm here to give you
anything you like! You want free college, money,
mortages?! Whatever you like! You have come to the
right place! Why? I'll tell you why!)"
"Who can take your money? (Who can take your money?)
With a twinkle in their eye? (With a twinkle in their
eye?) Take it all away and
Give it to some other guy"

"The Government (the Government)
The Government can! (The Government can!)"

"The Government can 'cause
They mix it up with lies and
Make it all taste good! (Make it all taste good!)

The Government takes
Everything we make
To pay for all of their "sollutions"
Healthcare, Climate Change, Pollution)
(Throw away the Constitution)

Who can give a bailout? (Who can give a bailout?)
Tell us to behave? (Tell us to behave?)
Make the Founding Fathers
Roll over in their graves

The Government takes
Everything we make
They're power hungry
And malicious

The economics are fictitious
Soon we'll have to eat our dishes
Mmm! Delicious!

Who can be a failure? (Who can be a failure?)
In so many ways? (In so many ways?)
Instead of getting fired, HEY!
We'll give ourselves a raise!

The Government can 'cause
They mix it up with lies and
Make it all taste good! (Make it all taste good!)
And your Uncle Sam can 'cause
He mixes it with lies and
Makes it all taste good! (Makes it all taste good!)

And I feel so good
Because the Government
Says I should! Oh!..."

"The only difference between you and I is, The microphone. And talent."

"Oh, Oh, Oh, The dogs on fire"
"Chick-Fil-A, I could eat there seven times a day"
Annnd. We got his autograph!
Annnndddd. We also got our picture with him!
(Joshua is at the top, I'm in the middle with Tim Hawkins, and Rachel is at my shoulder)

Dad got a really funny video when we were talking with him. I was telling Rachel "You can't be shy if you want to meet Tim Hawkins." Because he won't be shy back. But we had so much fun. If Tim Hawkins ever comes to Oklahoma again, I'll definitely want to go and see him. (My videos will take a while to convert onto blogger, so I'm not going to post them right now, but I will be soon.)

--------------------

And thats about it. This blog post has taken me way longer than I anticipated. I wanted to make it longer, but that will have to wait a little longer. If you want to see some of Tim Hawkins video's, you can go to youtube or to his website HERE.

God bless!

"Oh I hate this! Its revolting!" "More?" "Yes please!"

I apologize for being so random with post titles. I just enjoy doing that. Right now it is snowing! (Finally! I thought it wouldn't snow this winter!) The smell of hot chocolate and cookies are in the house, I just finished up a letter to one of my friends and a mug of hot chocolate. I'm making cookies also. Sweet Potato Cookies. They are my Nana's favourite. (My Nana lives across the street) She called and asked me if I would make them for her. So that's what I'm doing, making cookies and blogging. Lovely combination. I'm also watching a movie called "Cool Runnings" its about the first Jamaican bobsled team competing in the Olympics. Its based on a true story!

Rachel wanted me to tell my readers about Mittens. Remember Mittens? When we first found her she weighed 3 pounds. Just three pounds! Since then she's gained at least 3 more pounds. Last time we took her to the vet she weighed 6 pounds, but thats been a quite a while. We decided a few days ago that we weren't going to keep her, we were just going to foster her until we found a good owner. Because she was terrified of the little boys and she was always hiding, also she wouldn't come out of her crate. But then these last few days she's been so different! She rubs against her leg, and she actually wants to be picked up, she is also exploring the house now, and she's much friendly! So now we've decided to keep her. So confusing.

And here are the lyrics to a song I've been enjoying!

Everybody falls sometimes
Gotta find the strength to rise
From the ashes and make a new beginning
Anyone can feel the ache
You think it’s more than you can take
But you are stronger, stronger than you know
Don’t you give up now
The sun will soon be shining
You gotta face the clouds
To find the silver lining

I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn’t ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I’ve seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That’s what faith can do

It doesn’t matter what you’ve heard
Impossible is not a word
It’s just a reason for someone not to try
Everybody’s scared to death
When they decide to take that step
Out on the water
It’ll be alright
Life is so much more
Than what your eyes are seeing
You will find your way
If you keep believing

I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn’t ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I’ve seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That’s what faith can do

Overcome the odds
You don't have a chance
(That’s what faith can do)
When the world says you can’t
It’ll tell you that you can!

I’ve seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn’t ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I’ve seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That’s what faith can do
That's what faith can do!
Even if you fall sometimes
You will have the strength to rise

God bless!

10,000 Miles

Fare thee well
My own true love
Farewell for a while
I’m going away
But I’ll be back
Though I go 10,000 miles

10,000 miles
My own true love
10,000 miles or more
The rocks may melt
And the seas may burn
If I should not return

Oh don’t you see
That lonesome dove
Sitting on an ivy tree
She’s weeping for
Her own true love
As I shall weep for mine

Oh come ye back
My own true love
And stay a while with me
If I had a friend
All on this earth
You’ve been a friend to me
